Welcome to Inuyama

Introduction

The Smith family is coming to Inuyama and they need your help. What should they do in Inuyama? What should they see? Where should they go?

Each person in the family has different interests. So you need to decide on activities that will make everyone happy.

The Task

Your task is to make a travel guide (旅行ガイド) as a group. Each group member will write one page. Be sure to make a plan that fits the family members' interests.

Use the links provided to research things to do and places to go in Inuyama.

The family members are Grandmother, Father, Mother, a 14-year-old boy, and a 12-year-old girl.

The Process

Meet the Smiths:

1. Grandmother: she likes Japanese food, swimming, and tennis.

2. Father: he likes fishing, golf, and birdwatching.

3. Mother: she likes sweets, museums, and music.

4. Boy: he likes video games, soccer, and animals.

5. Girl: she likes sports, amusement parks, and shopping.

    The Process, continued...

    • Open Microsoft Word.
    • In your group, decide what page you will write. Your travel guide will be five pages long:
    1. a cover page
    2. a facts page (population, history, map)
    3. a page of places to see
    4. a page of things to do
    5. a page of hotels and transportation
    • Take notes in Word, as you research Inuyama.
    • Work together. Help each other.
    • Remember you want to fit your guide to the Smith family's interests.

    Good luck!

    Blog: Photos

Today, you're going to post the photos you took last time. Each photo should include a description.

First, read my "Photo Journal" report. Try to answer the following questions, and put your answers into the comments section below.

    1. On the day we took photos, how was the weather?
    2. What kind of photos do I like?
    3. What kind of images did I want to get?
    4. One of the photos has a title. What is the title?
    5. What is your favorite photo? Why?

Now, go to your own blog and post your photos and descriptions.

    Think:

    • What kind of photos do you like?
    • What did you take pictures of?
    • Why did you take the photos that you did?
    • What are the titles for your photos?
    • What is your favorite photo? Why?
